Manual installation of the SQL Server

1. Use the Windows Control Panel Add/Remove Programs (XP) or Programs and Features (Vista/Windows 7) to remove all SQL Server 2005 related items.
2. If the version on your software disk is older than 5.0.304, then
• Download the lates SQL Server 2005 from Microsoft's website at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=3181842a-4090-4431-acdd-9a1c832e65a6
  
• You can use all the default options during the installation.
• Skip to Step 8
3. Insert the HORTICOPIA Professional software disk in your CD drive
4. If the installation software starts, exit it by selecting "Decline" on the License Agreement and clicking on OK
5. From the Start menu select Run…, and enter
   D:\Software\SQL\Setup.exe (change D: as needed for your CD drive)
6. When the installation starts, accept the Microsoft agreement
7. Use all the default options. You may change the default instance name from SQLEXPRESS to HORTPROSQL, if desired.
   
8. Proceed with the installation.  It may take as long as 15 minutes to complete.
   

Be sure to note any error messages.
