Ask a question:

How do I decompress the database files?

Solution

Compression usually occurs when you check the "Compress to save space" box during Windows® disk clean-up.  To uncompress the vital data for HORTICOPIA® Professional, do the following:

  • Make sure you have the current build of HORTICOPIA® Professional. For updates, see http://www.horticopia.com/support/TechSupp.html
  • Open the Horticopia Control Panel (Start, All Programs, Horticopia Pro V, Horticopia Control Panel)
Click on the Setup tab and then on "Open the Horticopia Data Folder"
  • Double-click on the Data folder to open it
  • Right-click on the "HortData" file and select "Properties." (May display as HortData.mdf)
  • Click on the "Advanced" button
  • Uncheck "Compress contents to save disk space"
  • Click on OK 3 times
  • Wait until Windows is done decompressing (The Data Properties window
    disappears)
  • Right-click on the "HortData_log" file and select "Properties" (May display as HortData_log.ldf)
  • Repeat Steps 5 to 8
  • Start HORTICOPIA Professional
In the future, when you do a disk clean-up, DO NOT let the clean-up compress files
