Newly installed Version V hangs on opening

Solution

This applies to both the education version and the standalone Version V Professional edition Version 5.1 and later.

It is very important to Run as Administrator the first time. Proceed as follows:

  1. Open the HORTICOPIA Control Panel from Start, All Programs, Horticopia Pro V, Horticopia Control Panel
  2. On the Setup tab, click on Delete Horticopia Data folder
  3. After the deletion is complete, start HORTICOPIA Professional by right-clicking on the HORTICOPIA desktop icon and selecting Run as Administrator. Note that this is not the same as being logged on as an Administrator.
  4. If you cannot delete the Horticopia Data folder with this method, open your Public Documents folder and manually delete the Horticopia Data folder

If the above procedure fails to resolve the program, reinstall the software and, when prompted, choose Update (not New Install). Let the update complete and then try and run the software again (Run as Administrator the first time).
